Dee Dee Dixon-Rund

February 18, 1967 - December 24, 2010

On December 24, 2010, Dee Dee Dixon Rund, 43, passed too soon from this life, as a result of leukemia. Though her life was cut short, she did not suffer, and peacefully joined her father Joe M. Dixon and her son Jonathon Rund in heaven.

Dee Dee faced her illness the way she lived her life: with calm dignity and grace. She embraced every moment with optimism and never complained. Throughout her journey, Dee Dee was deeply touched by the kindness and support of friends old and new, colleagues, employees, and the entire community.

Dee Dee was born on February 18, 1967 in Oklahoma City to Connie and Joe M. Dixon. She was an accomplished equestrian. She graduated from Deer Creek High School in 1985 and attended college at the University of Oklahoma where she joined Zeta Epsilon Tau. She is the proud and loving mother of Morgan Rund, age 17 and Emmery, age 12.  Dee Dee was especially close to her family. She enjoyed making jewelry, reading scary mysteries and going to the movies with Kevin.

Dee Dee served as President of Oklahoma City Abstract and Title, a company founded in 1907 by her paternal great-grandfather. Having worked in the company from the age of 14, Dee Dee accepted this leadership role two years after the death of her father in 1998.  Dee Dee was a member of EWF International for eight years. She also was a member of the Oklahoma Land Title Association (OLTA), the American Land Title Association (ALTA), and represented the company with the Edmond Board of Realtors.

Dee Dee is survived by her mother, Connie “CR” Dixon, her beloved husband, Kevin Rund, her daughters, Morgan and Emery Rund, her siblings, Shelli Dixon Reid, Amber Dixon Patterson, nephews Anthony and Cooper Reid, and niece Tiffany Webb.
